Life Legacy
George C. Muncy, 77 of Joplin departed this life Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon after a long illness.
George was born on January 5, 1933 to the late Willard G. and Edith O. (Miller) Muncy in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life Donna May Idstrom in 1970 she was taken to be with the Lord four short years later and to that union one son was born.
He is survived by a son Charlie Muncy, two daughters Connie and Michelle Muncy, five sisters, Patsy Davis, Barbara Quinn, Bonnie Sue Eilar, Judith Carol Murray, Linda June Evans, and three brothers, Lyle Smith, Joe Paul Muncy, and Donald Lavoy Smith.
George was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers Tommy Charles Muncy, Larry Willard Muncy, and Jimmy Dale Smith, and one sister, Shirley Huckeba.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.thornhilldillon.com care of the mortuary.
